What RES-T is

RES-T is a study application for the Mac, published by Risi Ai Labs Inc. The app is local-first: study documents, notes, flashcards, and progress stay on the user's device unless the user explicitly chooses an external AI feature. The separate RES-T SaaS service remains in early trial testing and is described in its own disclosures.

Information we may receive

If you send feedback or a support request by email, Risi Ai Labs Inc may receive your name, email address, device details, study goals, feedback, screenshots you choose to send, and the message you choose to send. Do not email passwords, government ID, banking details, or private school records.

Study documents and notes

RES-T is intended for learning material that users are allowed to study. Users should not place sensitive student records, grades, attendance, disability information, IEP details, behavior records, banking details, government ID, passwords, or recovery codes into RES-T documents, prompts, notes, or support emails.

AI and voice features

Typed and voice questions are under user control. Microphone access is requested only after a user presses the microphone button. We will not ask users to send passwords or recovery codes.

Native RES-T Apple app: your books and optional AI

Risi Ai Labs Inc develops RES-T. You import your own PDF books; Risi Ai Labs Inc does not provide or distribute those books. Import only material you are authorized to use, and share excerpts with online services only when permitted.

The native Apple app keeps its study library on your Mac. If you enable online AI study, your question and relevant source text are sent directly to the provider you select in Settings: OpenAI (GPT) or Anthropic (Claude). These study requests do not pass through a Risi Ai Labs AI proxy.

You supply your own API key and are responsible for your provider account and API usage charges. RES-T stores your provider keys in macOS Keychain and uses the selected provider's key to authenticate requests to that provider.

Your provider's terms, data-retention practices, and account settings apply to information sent to it. Review OpenAI's API data controls, Anthropic's model-training policy, and Anthropic's API data-retention policy. RES-T does not guarantee zero retention or a particular processing country.

You can disable online AI study to prevent future study requests. Deleting a local book or removing a saved API key does not delete information already processed by a provider. Use that provider's privacy-request process for information it holds.

Speech features have separate controls. Microphone transcription uses Apple Speech and may process audio online. Custom online speech is not available in the first native Apple release; read-aloud uses local Apple or Piper voices. Experimental Kokoro voice work is not part of the public App Store release unless Risi Ai Labs Inc enables it after review.

This native Apple app description does not describe the separate RES-T SaaS service or AI Project Room. Their hosted features require their own applicable data-handling disclosures.

Who RES-T is for

RES-T is intended for students aged 14 and older, covering high-school and university study. Use by children under 14 is not supported. RES-T does not verify age, and this is not a claim of school approval or of compliance certification. A deployment involving younger students requires its own review.

School and family use

Any school or family pilot should focus on approved learning material only. Wider school deployment requires a separate privacy review, consent process, data handling plan, and support process before sensitive student information is considered.

Payments

The RES-T Mac app is free. It contains no in-app purchases and no subscription, and it collects no payment information.

The separate RES-T SaaS service is planned as free for 30 days, followed by subscription access once billing is enabled. Public online checkout for it is not active yet, and any payment arrangement must be confirmed manually with Risi Ai Labs Inc before money is collected.
